The fascist clubhouse Otsola was badly damaged in a fire on the night between Sunday and Monday. All indications are that the fire was caused by anti-fascist direct action. The topic has been widely reported in various media outlets, and Makamik has also been mentioned a couple of times in connection with the matter.
Hesari was more concise:
“The anarchist Makamik collective has reported that far-right activists have damaged the collective’s facilities.”

Yle, on the other hand, apparently reads our Telegram channel:
“The anarchist Makamik community has commented on the Otsola fire on social media in a malicious tone. “Thanks to the unknown benefactors,” they wrote on Telegram on Monday. The Makamik community believes that the far-right was responsible for the fire at their gathering place in Vallila, Helsinki, in February 2023. The Helsinki Police Department investigated the matter at the time and concluded that there was no reason to suspect a crime. The fire had started from inside the building.”

It should be noted that at least some of the same Nazis who were convicted in the Lahti terrorism trial are suspected of breaking into our Makamik building in April 2022, breaking into the premises and stealing, among other things, a book as a shooting target for practice with their 3D-printed weapons. (yle.fi/a/74-20049207) A video of the break-in has also been published on Nazi online media. The fact that the Makamik fire started from inside does not actually prove the Nazis’ innocence, after all, they already had experience breaking into there.
It is possible that the fire started from the chimney despite good maintenance, anything is possible. However, the mainstream media also failed to mention the apt timing of the Makamik fire, as it happened the very next day after Antifasistinen Helsinki had revealed that Nazi Olli ‘Vickström’ Lehtinen had participated in vandalizing places in Makamik earlier. We reported extensively on this and numerous other pieces of evidence that make us believe that the fire in our house was probably a fascist arson attack.
